Hut55 on the beach at Deal is an example of "heroic hospitality". Everything they serve has to be be made at their kitchen in town and brought up. The Hut also has no running water and so that also has to be brought in - and they serve hundreds of coffees on any given day.
Despite this, they quality of everything on offer is great and Kate and her brilliant team do it all with smiles - however busy they are and however challenging/crazy the day (or the customer) is. AND they make it look effortless. True heroes.
In addition to the great food though, they dress the beach with their own deckchairs and cushions, provide bike hire and run events like Beach Yoga, Wednesday Swim Club and Sunday Sundownders. Part cafe - part vibrant community hub.
It's also the nearest cafe to my front door, so I thought I'd try and capture some of the summer magic of this great little place punching way above it's weight.
